CAREC Seminar on AI-Driven Transformation in Digital Trade and E-Commerce

 

On 26 September 2024 in Hangzhou, Zhejiang Province of the PRC, government and private sector representatives from CAREC members discussed the transformative role of emerging technologies, particularly, the use of Artificial Intelligence (AI) in digital trade and cross-border e-commerce.

At the Opening Session of the 3rd Global Digital Trade Expo (GDTE) with the theme “Digital Trade, Global Access” on 25 September the GDTE’s Guest Country of Honor, Kazakhstan Minister of Digital Development, Innovations and Aerospace Industry Zhaslan Madiyev recognized the rise of AI in transforming economies worldwide and the outstanding example of the PRC both in terms of technology and institutions.

CAREC participants also joined a series of events at the sideline of the GDTE, including the Silk Road E-Commerce Day, the PRC-Central Asia Digital Trade Networking and Matchmaking Event, and the Silk Road E-Commerce Study Tour. Kazakhstan’s Growth Vision Pro Ltd, signed a Memorandum of Understanding with the Hangzhou Central Asia Innovation Cooperation Center to promote startups’ and SMEs’ technological innovation and entrepreneurship and cooperation between Kazakhstan, the PRC and the rest of Central Asia.
